Twenty minutes later, the bus still hasn’t come. I don’t know if that was Nate or not. Maybe it was someone else. God, I’m not even high. It couldn’t have been him.

I zip my parka up higher as the wind continues to blow, still feeling jittery over what just happened. Confusion twists my thoughts into one huge knot, making my head pulse. I need to get to the Tower to get Fix and find out for sure what happened to Nate. Finally, the bus comes. I step on and slide my money into the pay machine. The doors close behind me and the bus jerks into motion. I walk down the narrow aisle and take a seat in the back row.

I know this is probably a bad idea to go to the Tower again, but it must be done. I need to know for sure if Nate’s okay. God, and Tabatha’s car. I almost forgot.
